I am not saying anything, not a dickie bird!

Today in the British language newspapers of Mallorca there is the article that I am showing you here. This man previously had many dealings so I believe with the Centro Canino under the previous councils authority.

NO WONDERS THE CENTRO CANINO HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS.

As I suspected it is too late now before Easter to visit prospective abogados or private detectives, so it must wait 'til next week.

One thing I do promise is that if the neighbors of the Centro Canino have anything to hide, we will do everything possible to find it. Illegal buildings, non payment of tax (after all this is how the villain Al Capone got sent to jail in the United States) or duplicitous relationships with Palma Council.

If the proof is there, we shall pay professionals to legally try and find it.
As the great Winston Churchill did say 'Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter.'

For the animals of Mallorca this is indeed a war and for their sakes I shall pray in church this weekend that we shall win.

If I do not post again before Easter, may I wish you a happy & peaceful time.

No money needed at present! Thank-you

I very much truly appreciate all the offers of money to help pay for our cause in finding out the truth about the neighbors of the Centro Canino.

For the time though, please keep your hands in your pockets, your money is not needed (I am sure the Centro Canino would appreciate it though).

They are a charity, we are not. I do not know of the legality of accepting money for causes in Spain, and until I do, I certainly do not wish to take money from anyone for our pursuits.

My friends and I, as members of the Santa Ponca County Club and golf buddies are very happy to pay all the expenses at present, out of our own income.

Please believe me when I tell you, we are most grateful for your offers of help, but money, for now, is not an issue nor is it required.

I am today contacting various abogados in Palma to take our battle to the next stage. Will tell you more later, as it is so close to Easter, it may be too late to commence proceedings before the holiday, especially as I believe Thursday is a holiday in Spain.

Thank you again for your support.

Can you suggest a good lawyer/abogado?

Tomorrow I shall be emailing lawyers/abogados in Palma, Mallorca to ask them if they shall take on our case. After meeting with several possible abogados, we shall appoint our chosen law firm.

If you have had official dealings with any lawyers in Palma & have found the firm most excellent, perhaps you could post a comment with their name/phone number.

I am today in Germany, but back in Mallorca for the weekend and the Eastertime holidays.

Thank-you most sincerely if you can help.

P.S. Already today things are moving swiftly, I have been contacted by new people wishing to also help pay for legal fees. Thank-you.

Centro Canino website

Sorry for forgetting, but here is the website for the Centro Canino in Mallorca.

Please visit it & read of the terrific work they have been doing for many years now, rescueing animals in Palma, Mallorca.

FIGHTING BACK

FIRST - Please accept my apologies for my less than perfect English. It is not my first language and so I apologise for any grammatical, puncuation and spelling errors.

Welcome to our website and blog. We are property owners in wonderful Mallorca in Spain. We live part-time over in Mallorca, and the rest of the time in our homes across Europe.

Our members are British, German and Dutch, although obviously we invite anyone of any nationality to join us in what we believe to be a rigteous and just cause.

The Centro Canino is a magnificent animal rescue shelter here in Mallorca, Spain. They do a fantastic dog rescueing and rehoming sick, abandoned, unwanted and injured dogs, cats and other animals.

Recently the Centro Canino has been a lot in the news. The Council (Palma) desire to close it down; they have their reasons, mostly spurious and bureaucratic.

What bothers us is that it seems that some neighbors who live in the area of the Centro Canino are putting unfair undemocratic pressure on Palma council, forcing them to behave like the bullies.

THIS IS WRONG, and it is our aim to try hard to put this right.

Our decision came about after an informal meeting of German, British and Dutch Mallorca residents at the Santa Ponca County Club in South West Mallorca. We are friends, who have met in Mallorca, who meet a few times a week when we are on the Island, to chat, have social discourse and discuss this that and the other.

Naturally the topic of the Centro Canino often arises itself in our conversations.

What we can agree on, us Europeans, is that animal rescue shelters can only be a good thing.

After studying the whole situation, we have decided how best we can help the Centro Canino for now.

It seems that this is a predicament that mostly calls on the philosophy of 'FIGHTING FIRE WITH FIRE.'

The neighbours of the Centro Canino seem to want to fight to have it closed, so we think the finest idea in the land is to FIGHT BACK.

LEGALLY.

Between us we have raised a few thousand euros and this is how we intend to spend it...

We shall appoint a lawyer (solicitor/abogado) to investigate the conduct of the neighbours of the Centro Canino. We wish to know the legality of ALL of their households, their fiscal positions - Everything. Know your enemy that shall be our creed.

If the neighbours who are against the Centro Canino (we have NO FIGHT with the majority of the neighbours and good upstanding people of es.pilari) have anything at all to hide, we hope to find it. If our abogados need to hire private detectives to dig in the dirt, then we will pay for it.

We feel very very sincerely my friends, that Spain & Mallorca in particular must acknoledge itself to be part of modern Western Europe.

Modern Europe does not close down animal shelters - it takes better care of animals, it is progressive.

If the neighbours think they can hold back progress, well then maybe unfortunately they can; buit believe me, we will give them battle - with total legal recourse.

If they are trying to close the Centro Canino internacional using the ruses of the law; then we shall do the same to them.

If their properties are illegal, if their tax affairs are not in perfect order, we aim to ensure that our Solicitor/Abogado (with the help where necessary of the Private Detective firm) will discover the facts and reveal them.

We are German, we are British, we are Dutch, we are Spainish - We are Europeans. We all own homes in Mallorca, and we will fight in the name of humanity for the dogs of the Centro Canino.

Today, we have raised a fund of a few thousand euros, later today, I begin to look for an abogado who will handle our affairs for us.

Unfortunately, we only know of abogados so far, who deal in property purchases and sales; so I will email them later (we all buy properties through these abogados) to ask them to suggest solicitors who deal in the sort of investigations we need to have made of.

THANK-YOU for your time, I will post later or tomorrow, to update you on how we are getting on.

As previously posted, we are not members of the Centro Canino, we are independent animal lovers and democracy lovers, who own properties in Mallorca, pay tax in Mallorca, and support the Centro Canino in Mallorca.
